CONCEPT

Autoimmune Metro Style Fashion shows are individually designed events that strive to raise global awareness relating to Autoimmune Disease, specifically Graves Disease. It has only become one of the only exclusive and prestigiously innovative, branded shows in the United States. The multi-day event personifies beauty and elegance and has a unique way of highlighting global fashion.

Traditionally, clothing has primarily been garments worn for protection from the environment, privacy and/or to enhance one’s beauty. In today’s world, clothing can also be worn to raise awareness. AIMS Runway shows do just that. They bring awareness of autoimmune diseases to communities through a diverse spread of fashion for a charitable cause by representation of affordable, ready to wear, off-the-rack, high street fashion. All while trying to keep the look of designer or haute couture at low costs.

For autoimmune disease awareness we bring together department stores, brands, companies, top fashion industry reps, hosts, sponsors, entrepreneurs, an array of vendors, and over one hundred models of all ages. AIMS events become a focal point for aspiring and upcoming designers and worldwide awareness. Models ages 4-25 grace the runway, presenting gorgeous, handcrafted and personalized pieces to the public — some of which lay on racks and never get the chance to be seen. Our team of professionals strives to support the consistent advocacy of Sabre, the founder and producer of these events. We aspire to be an interface for charity and awareness through the exposure of fashion, business and talent. We also revel in assisting stores, brands, designers, and models to set and represent new fashion trends and fads nationwide throughout the industry.

AIMS fashion shows have been running since 2016, but this year in particular, AIMS2k20 is also a millennial passageway filled with opportunities for people of all colors, abilities and nationalities. Our events allow for the expression of voice through fashion, style and culture, while spreading and raising awareness of autoimmune diseases. The AIMS Charity Foundation just turned twelve years old. Like Vogue, since 1909, we plan on chasing the pavement and spreading "the word” through fashion for decades to come. We are a fast-paced, globalizing movement that plans on using democracy, education, media, and awareness by passing our message through fashionable markets to the masses in order to change the future.

WHO WE ARE

Sabrina Ocasio, CEO and founder of Sabre Inc., was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. At the tender age of 7, she developed her passion for modeling and fashion. At just 15, walking in Manhattan, N.Y. with her family, she was discovered by a local photographer. At that moment, her life changed forever! She went on to become a model scout and director for several agencies. Shortly thereafter, she excelled as a runway model and appeared in several magazines such as Clear Girls Magazine, Princess Magazine, and Overall Magazine. Sabrina then worked with several major agencies including Ford, AD, Vinson, True Modeling Agency, and Sean Andrande. By the age of 18, Sabrina had modeled with Transition Modeling and Show Models. In that short time, Sabrina had infinite experience with many luxury designers, including Donna Karan, Fetish, Extreme Clothing, and more.

After all of these years of modeling involvement, Sabre’ was than diagnosed with Grave’s Disease, an autoimmune disorder. With one flash of a shutter, she moved from being in front of the camera to encompassing a whole new world behind the lens. She was not only a talented model, but also a business woman and an intellect. Having graduated from Temple University with her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and her skill set in commentating, directing, event planning, logistics, and more, she transitioned effortlessly to being behind the scenes. Another devastating hit came in 2008, with the major loss of a loved one. This inspired Sabre’ to never slow down or let go of her passions. Then came her diagnosis of breast cancer. She then realized that her unwavering faith and passion were going to keep her motivated to raise funding and awareness for autoimmune disease. Using her industry experience, skills and talents, she is now the producer for the largest charity benefit runway show – AIMS2K. Sabrina also works with child talent that has been seen on the Disney Channel, BET, Bravo, HBO, ABC, and more.

Additionally, Sabre’ focuses her career on producing, developing and discovering unique talent. She continues to be sought after by schools, organizations and fashion industry peers, wanting to use her expertise as a part of their development. She is also a long lasting monthly contributor to the pageant and model publication, Le Reve Magazine. Her most prized efforts and focus go into her annual charity event Autoimmune Metro Style – A Fashion Show and Awareness Event. “I wanted to promote autoimmune disease awareness through my love of fashion,” states Sabre.’ The show garners support from peers in the beauty and entertainment realm worldwide. Sabrina continues to triumph over everything, despite tribulations that life has thrown her way. As of August 2017 she was declared cancer free! Her passion, ambition and accomplishments also awarded her the opportunity to be recognized by the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, with the USA President Recognition of 2016. Sabrina is an ambitious entrepreneur who wants to empower global attention, while using her expertise and experience to raise awareness — she has no limits. With her celebrated health and her purpose, her goals for the future are to help the less fortunate, yet well deserving, assisting them to reach goals that seemed impossible for so long — to help them discover their talents at heart, and make their dreams a reality!
